These folks understand what jazz is really all about – FUN!

Johnny’s sax work (alto and tenor) is impeccable on this recent release. As you listen to beautiful tunes like “Cinders“, you’ll hear his gentle tones influencing the movement of the rest of the group – subtly, but clearly! Jazz in the “old style”, yet somehow rendered with the immediacy of the new Century… that’s especially true on the longer pieces like the closer “That Night (Under The Bench) So Long Ago“… what’s clear on tunes like this one is that these folks understand what jazz is really all about – FUN! It was (definitely) the title track, “Dance With The Lady“, that got my vote for personal favorite of the nine offered up for your aural enjoyment… high-energy, high-talent jazz that will remain on your playlists for days, months & years to come! I give Johnny & his crew a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99/5.
